What is a yurtcamp holiday?

"A wonderful break. We loved the yurt, the woodland and the cafe bar."

Your day may start with a walk to the chicken houses to collect some freshly laid eggs for breakfast. On route you will probably enjoy walking by the goat pen and saying Good Morning to the Camp’s four resident pygmy goats Frodo, Flash, Freckle and Fudge.

Undercover games at yurtcampYou may of course prefer to relax with a cup of finest Italian espresso and a speciality pastry, or a full English breakfast in the Camp’s new fully licensed café bar (open from 8am for breakfast). Contemporary laid back sounds helping to ensure that relaxed vibe.

"Our children rated it as their favourite holiday ever and we loved the safety for them to run around"

Both children and adults alike greatly enjoy the walks in yurtcamp's 40 acres of woodland where many species of wildlife live. Magnificent birds of prey are easily spotted and if you are lucky you may spot resident wild deer.

There is also table tennis, a skittle alley, pool table and lots of children’s play equipment. We also have a large field on which impromptu games of football, cricket and rounders are played. Just a two minute walk from yurtcamp is our new club size all weather tennis court. There is also plenty to do in the local area with Dartmoor being on the doorstep, and the South Hams with its wonderful beaches a short drive away. Attractions such as Becky Falls, River Dart Country Park And Adventures, Pennywell Farm and Woodlands Leisure Park, are all close at hand. Torquay is less than 10 miles away and the cities of Exeter and Plymouth are also short drives for those seeking major city attractions.

For those unmissable sporting events we offer a large wall mounted flat screen television in our cafe bar. Please note we will be showing all of Englands world cup matches.

"Cooking on the firepit was a real experience and the food tasted surprisingly good"

Some nights you may relish cooking your own dinner in your Yurt or outside in one of the fire pits. Other nights you may be tempted by dinner in our new café bar where locally sourced organic ingredients are skillfully mixed and cooked to create delicious and healthy dishes. Please note that we are experienced in the specific dietary requirements of Coeliacs and Diabetics (please advise when booking). On some evenings we offer themed dinners, where favourite dinners are offered in adult and child size portions.

"Yurtcamp was everything we had hoped for and more"

There is plenty to do at Yurtcamp with the emphasis in school holiday time on family fun with plenty of relaxation, plus our assurance that we operate a low impact, sustainable development with minimum use of non renewable energy sources.

We also have a woodland management programme, and work has been carried out to enhance the bio diversity of the site including the provision of bird and bat boxes, as well as continued monitoring of the areas protected species. Yurtcamp is located on the edge of and in an area of ancient woodland and as such is designated a county wildlife site due to the wide variety of flora and fauna.

We cater for group bookings, and welcome parties, wedding events, corporate bookings and most other group events. Please ensure to book early so we can book all your yurts close together.
