yurtcamp Devon Frequently Asked Questions

How big are the Yurts? Do they have partitions inside?
Our Large Yurts are 20 feet in diameter and sleep 4 to 6 persons. Our smaller Yurts are 16 feet in diameter and sleep 2 plus a cot if required. The large yurts have fabric partitions which allow two bedrooms to be created. The partitions can be drawn back in the day to appreciate the structure of the yurt.

What do I sleep on?
A full size bed, just like you would find at home! Furthermore, all large yurts include a king sized bed. All beds have good quality duvets and extra blankets for Spring, Autumn and New Year breaks (and your log burner will keep you cosy).

Do I have to bring bed linen?
We supply bed linen at a charge of £5.00 per person. This is a compulsory charge to ensure all our beds stay clean and fresh. Your linen pack is collected from reception upon arrival.

Can I get reception on my mobile phone?
We are an area of excellent mobile reception.

Do you have internet access?
Our reception has wi-fi access if you don't want to escape from the internet!

Do you have a television?
For those unmissable sporting events we offer a wall mounted flat screen television in our reception building.

How do I see at night?
Each yurt is lit by safe lanterns and candle holders. We also have solar lighting along paths and provide a wind up torch for each Yurt

What are the facilities on site?
We have a new large shower and toilet block centrally located to the yurts, which has lots of hot showers, hair dryers, mirrors and toilets with ladies, gents and disabled/family facilities

What’s provided inside the Yurt?
Everything you should need except your groceries. A full inventory is sent to you on completion of your booking.

What do we cook on?
Cooking is on a 2 ring/grill camping gas cooker inside the Yurt, outside fire pits are also available complete with trivet which takes the pots/pans provided. You can also cook on your log burner.

Can my friends come and stay with me for a few days?
If you have friends or family in the area they are welcome to visit Yurtcamp in the daytime but an overnight stay incurs additional charges as per our booking conditions. If you need more space for your visitors by all means book an extra yurt (subject to availability).

Do you allow for group bookings?
We cater for group bookings, and welcome parties, wedding events, corporate bookings and most other group events. Please ensure to book early so we can book all your yurts close together.

Can I bring my pets?

Sorry no pets are allowed on site. We can recommend local kennels for your pet – details on request.

Is a holiday at Yurtcamp suitable for very young children and babies?
Lots of people come to us with very young children. Babies & toddlers love the yurts and living close to nature. We have a supply of travel cots which are ideal for small children. We can also supply high chairs and potty’s if these are required. Please reserve at time of booking.

Are the cars parked off site?
No, we have a secure car park on site. Cars are not allowed in the main yurt area. Upon arrival a member of staff will help transport your luggage to your yurt in a large pull along trolley, although many people especially children like to have a go themselves.

Can you lock a Yurt?
For your peace of mind all our Contemporary yurts have solid wooden doors that lock. However due to the outdoors nature of the holiday we would suggest you leave unnecessary valuables at home .
